Work Instruction IV: Card Wall & Schedule Plan Navigation

Plans

The ability to view and add project Plans (schedule) and/or Card Walls (tasks).

  1. Click Plans on the Navigation menu.
  2. Click the Plan Title (see Figure 1). 
  3. Plan will open in a new window.
  4. See Create a Card Wall Plan and Create a Waterfall Plan sections.

Create New Plan (Card Wall)

Create Card Wall Plan

  1. Click Plans on the Navigation menu.
  2. Click the New button.
  3. Type the Name.
  4. Type the Description (optional).
  5. Select Type: Card Wall.
  6. Select No (Create an empty plan).
  7. Click Save.
  8. Select View the plan you just created or Close this window (see Figure 2).

*Denotes Required Fields
Click Save after all project info entries/updates.

Edit Card Wall Plan
 

  1. Click Plans on the Navigation menu.Figure 3 – Create Card Wall Task
  2. Click the Plan Title (see Figure 1). 
  3. Plan will open in a new window.
  4. Click the Plus icon to add a New task.     
  5. Type Task Name.
  6. Click Save repeat as needed (see Figure 3).

  7. Go to respective task and click the Edit icon - pencil symbol (see Figure 4).
  8. Edit Title (if applicable).Figure 4 – Edit Card Wall Task
  9. Type Description.
  10. Select a Start/End Date.Figure 4 – Edit Card Wall Task
  11. Select a Priority level.
  12. Select who Responsible. (*Resources must be added)
  13. Select task color.
  14. Click Save.
  15. Click X to close task.
  16. Click and drag task(s) into the appropriate category: In Process, Completed
    or On Hold (see Figure 5).

Click Save after all project info entries/updates.

Create Waterfall Plan

  1. Click Plans on the Navigation menu.
  2. Click the New button.
  3. Type the Name.
  4. Type the Description (optional).
  5. Select Type: Waterfall.
  6. Select No (Create an empty plan).
  7. Click Yes (Do you want to check this plan out now?)

  9. Select View the plan you just created or Close this window (see Figure 6).

Click Save after all project info entries/updates.

  1. Click Plans on the Navigation menu.
  2. Click the Plan Title (see Figure 1). 
  3. Plan will open in a new window.
  4. Click the View Draft icon (top right corner) (see Figure 7).
  5. Click section under Title and type project schedule task(s) and press Enter.
  6. To create or edit New Task, Child Task (sub task), or Delete Task select and click (see Figure 8).
  7. Create project schedule task(s) as required and press Enter after each entry.
  8. To Create/Add/Update Start Date, End Date, or % (percentage); select box and double-click to enter info and press Enter to complete (see Figure 9).
  9. To close and post schedule click Check In (top right corner) (see Figure 10).
  10. Click Check Out (top right corner) to re-edit (see Figure 11).                                                                                 
  11. Close the window.

Import Waterfall Plan

  1. Click Plans on the Navigation menu.Figure 12 – Microsoft Project XML Plan Import
  2. Click the New button.
  3. Type Name.
  4. Add/Update Description (optional).
  5. Select Waterfall radio button.
  6. Select Microsoft Project XML (see Figure 12).
  7. Click Yes (Do you want to check this plan out now?)
  8. Click Save.

Click Save after all project info entries/updates.

  1. Browse for file (see Figure 13).
  2. Select file name.
  3. Click Open.
  4. Select Import.
  5. Select “View the plan you just created” or “Close this window”.
