RAMID + DUO Authentication & Device Management

RAMID + powered by DUO:

Here are some quick instructions on managing your authentication devices or adding new ones.

  1. Logging in:

    • When logging into university applications, you'll be prompted to authenticate using a DUO-configured device.
      • Note: If you've already logged in earlier in the day, you may need to open up a private browsing tab or incognito in Chrome to receive the DUO prompt.
    • Scroll to the bottom of this authentication prompt and click on "Manage Devices."
  2. Authentication:

    • You'll then be prompted again to authenticate using an existing MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) device. This step is required for security purposes, so please continue with confirming your authentication.
    • If you do not have one of your existing MFA devices, please contact the help desk at 336-750-3431 for assistance.
  3. Manage Devices Page:

    • Once authenticated, you'll be redirected to the manage devices page.
    • From there, you can manage existing devices or add a new device.
  4. Adding a Device:

    • If you need to add a new device, click on "Add Device."
  5. Recommendations:

    • We recommend having at least two separate devices for MFA.
    • For example, you might have a phone and a tablet, or you might use a YubiKey security key alongside your phone.
      • Note: These YubiKey security keys can be purchased from other purchasing sources, such as CDW-G or Amazon.
    • Having multiple devices ensures access in case one device is inaccessible.

Please refer to the provided screenshots for visual guidance. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, don't hesitate to contact the help desk.
