Some users experience Zoom error code 5003 when attempting to connect to Zoom via the desktop app. If you receive error code 5003, this means that an issue is preventing a connection between your device and Zoom’s servers. There are regular Zoom servers and servers for our WSSU account.
Background: At WSSU we have a campus Zoom Enterprise account where all Faculty, staff and student can access Zoom features via the WSSU premium account. To use the WSSU Zoom account, you will have to log into Zoom using the web site or the computer's desktop app. Either way, you will have to access the service using our Single Sign On access mechanism.
Zoom desktop client
- On the app screen you have the choice to "Join a Meeting" or "Sign In"
- Click "Sign" to get to your WSSU Zoom access
- On the next screen, ignore all the options except the "Sign in with" section and this is where you select or click Sign In with SSO (to use WSSU Enterprise account).
- Enter your company domain which in our case is "WSSU" - Do Not Use "WSSU.EDU as the domain or you WILL get the 5003 error
- Click Continue and you will be redirected to your WSSU single sign-on provider to sign in at WSSU and you will have to provide your WSSU credentials at the prompt
Web Browser
- Open your web browser
- Enter the URL "wssu.zoom.us"
- You may be asked to sign in, so click "Sign In"
- This will take you to the WSSU authentication site and ask for your WSSU credentials and you will have to provide your WSSU credentials at the prompt.
