Installing Milestone XProtect

Purpose:

Before you can begin to install and use this application, you must request by submitting an Access to Milestone Camera request in RAMTech.  If approved, you will receive the appropriate access to log into this application.

Getting Started: Installation

1. Find and open the WSSU Software Self-Service client from the start menu.  See the Introduction to the Self Service Client Knowledgebase article for more information.

2. When the client is open, scroll down the application list and locate “XProtect Smart Client xxxx Rx”.  Click Install to begin installation.

3. When prompted, click Install Now.  The application will begin installation.  You may resume other work while it takes time to complete.

4. After the installation has completed, find the application in the Start Menu > Milestone > XProtect Smart Client xxxx Rx.  Click to open it.
   
   

5. When the application opens, you shall see the following login screen.  Enter the following settings:

   1. Computer:  Change this to captainm.wssu.edu by typing it in.
      If you see another entry here, BACKSPACE or DELETE it

   2. Authentication:  Set this to Windows authentication
      Your login should be your WSSUMITS\[Your RAM ID]

   3. Remember Password (Optional)

1. Click on Connect to log into Milestone XProtect.
