How to connect to RamGuest Wi-Fi using Network Access Control (FortiNAC)

 

Purpose:

This is a walkthrough on connecting to the “RamGuest” Wi-Fi network

Getting Started:

  • Audience: Campus visitors
  • Policy checks: None
  1. Connect your device to the RamGuest SSID.
  2. You should automatically be presented with a captive portal page, but if not open an internet browser and you will be directed to the splash page.
  3. The beginning splash page displays the campus use policy. (You must Accept the WSSU Acceptable Use Policy to access the internet.) Scroll through the text and click “agree” at the end of the policy.

  4. You will then be presented with a Welcome page.

  5. You will need to select the “Campus visitors registration” to request a login account. The login account is good for 48 hours before you will need to register again. (if you have done this within the past 48 hours skip to step #6)

i.Enter your personal information into the fields and click the “Request Guest Access” button. (An email with a copy of the name and password will be sent to you from ‘donotreply_fortinac@wssu.edu’)

ii.You will then be presented with your username, and password to log into the guest Wi-Fi. You must Accept The “acceptable use policy” then you can click “Login”. (you can use these credentials for the next 48 hours.)

iii.You will then be given a 45 second countdown for full internet access. Once the counter gets to 0, you will be instructed to close your browser then reopen it to gain full access.

  1. If you have done step 3b within the past 48 hours then you can select “Guests who have a temporary account”.

  1. Enter your email address and password, then click “Continue”.
  2. You will then be presented with the 45 second counter for full internet access.

Once the timer completes close your browser, then re-open it to gain full internet access. If the internet doesnt work immediately, turn off the Wi-Fi, wait 10 seconds, then turn the Wi-Fi back on.
