RAMPrint: Web Print

Purpose:

RAMPrint now features Web Print functionality! The Web Print service allows you to print from your laptop or other mobile devices without the need to install print drivers. You can pick up your document by swiping your RAMCard at the nearest RAMPrint Station. To upload a document for printing follow, please follow the steps below.

Getting Started:

On your web browser, go to https://ramsprint.wssu.edu. Log in to the RAMPrint user interface with your RAM ID and password, then click the Web Print link in the navigation menu.

The front page contains a list of active and recently submitted Web Print jobs for the logged-in user. At first, the list is empty. Later, the list will display the status of submitted jobs.

Click Submit a Job to start the Web Print wizard.
The first step of the Web Print wizard is selecting a printer. This is the printer to which the uploaded document will print. The printers available will be the RAMPrint-Follow-Me (virtual) and RamsPrintColor-Follow-ME Printer. The RamsPrintColor-Follow-Me printer will print to any available color printer on campus.  The RAMPrint-Follow-Me will print to any black/white printer available on campus.   

 

After selecting a printer user will see an option to select the number of copies to print:Figure 4 – Copy Options

 

Next is to upload a document to print. This page lists the applications and associated file extensions that are supported.

After you select a document and click Upload & Complete », the file uploads to the server.

Once the document upload is complete, the user is returned to the front Web Print page. The table displays the status of the user's job. The status changes indicate the job's progress from rendering to printing, and job details such as the cost and number of pages are populated when known. The user can stay at this page to track the job status or navigate away / close their browser - the job is not affected.

Select Held in a queue to release pending jobs. The user will have the option to select the action to print or cancel all jobs pending.

After selecting print, the user will be given the option to select the print station to print the document. The document is then released and sent to the printer.
