Service Overview:
The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA) uses an estimate of your cost to attend college as a basis for awarding your aid. Your cost of attendance is developed according to guidelines established by the Department of Education, your state residency, housing, and dependency status. It is recognized that some costs, besides those allowed in the standard cost of attendance, may serve as an obstacle to completing your studies. The adjustments listed below are the typical cost items considered for a COA Adjustment request.
Please keep in mind:
- Requests can only be considered for full-time students
- Only one COA adjustment request can be submitted per semester; no COA request for summer term(s) of enrollment
- All requests must be accompanied by documentation to verify the expense
- In most cases, Federal Stafford Loans, PLUS Loans and Alternative Loans are the only assistance offered to cover COA
- adjustments
- The minimum request that will be considered is $200
- Allow 3-5 weeks for a decision on your COA Adjustment Request
