Service Overview:
Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) supports transparency under the NC Public Records Act and responds to requests as quickly as possible while protecting confidential student and employee information.
Requests for personnel records must go through the Office of Human Resources, and requests for academic records must go through the Office of the Registrar.
Processing times vary, especially for broad or complex requests. When fulfilling a request requires more than four hours of staff or IT resources, WSSU may charge a special service fee at $15 per additional hour.
To update an existing request, email publicrecords@wssu.edu with your request ID.
