Purpose:

This is a guide for registering devices on the WSSU network.

Getting Started:

Registering a Device

(Game System, Smart TV, Streaming Device, etc.)

  1. Turn on your device and connect it to the network by Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable and keep your device connected through this entire process.
    1. If using Wi-Fi, connect to the “RamGuest” SSID.
  2. Locate the device's MAC address, and note it down or have the screen up and available. If you don’t know how to find the device's MAC address, here is a resource for Finding the MAC Address on Popular Gaming Consoles that may assist in obtaining your Mac address. If your device isn’t listed, you can try a Google search for your specific device type and find an online manual.
  3. From a separate device that is connected to any of the WSSU wired or wireless networks on your phone or PC, go to the following URL:
    1. Click here to register a device
    2. You will be presented with the “Network Access Control” Game console registration page.
    3. Enter your RamID and password, then the Mac address of the device. Select the device type that closely resembles your device from the drop-down menu and click "Register".
    4. Once registration is completed restart the device that you registered.

4. Users can register up to 5 devices. A device stays registered until it is disconnected (offline) from the WSSU network for 120 days.

5. The help desk does not support helping to find the MAC address on devices. We do not have manuals on all of the devices available on the retail market. However, Google does.
